Developing Positive Peer Culture: A Workshop for Educators
SAN JOSE, COSTA RICA — Schools offer the most consistent,
ongoing setting for children and adolescents to participate in community
life. In our contemporary world schools provide a key opportunity
to develop social skills, empathy and community awareness. As educators,
it is our responsibility to actively strive to create a positive
school climate that nurtures individual students. In this workshop,
educators will reflect on the culture of their schools, learn techniques
to enhance positive peer culture and strategies to minimize bullying,
scapegoating and other challenging behaviors. Finally, we will discuss
how to enlist parent support for this initiative.
