About Richard Dana

Richard Dana, Ed.D. is the Founder and President of Richard Dana Associates (RDA), an executive coaching and management consulting firm. RDA is committed to helping clients achieve maximum growth and productivity through customized organizational consulting and individual coaching services. Working with senior executives and management teams Richard focuses on leadership and team development, communications and successful execution of strategic initiatives to drive performance and profitability. His experience ranges from large global corporations, to start-ups, mid-phase, closely-held businesses and family firms.

Richard brings expertise in communications, group dynamics, and individual differences to help clients focus on life and business goals and build momentum for dynamic change.

A strong background in developing leadership competencies, bridging skill gaps, and building capabilities required for success.

Richard is a Licensed Psychologist who received his Doctorate in Counseling Psychology from Boston University and held an appointment as Instructor in Psychology in the Department of Psychiatry at Harvard University Medical School. In 1985, Richard founded Dana Group Associates (DGA), a multi-disciplinary human services firm that he sold in 2006. His experience leading DGA from start-up to mature business provides him with a first-hand understanding of the issues faced by businesses in varying economic climates. Accordingly, Richard is highly skilled and interested in the areas of staging, building and managing growth and organizational change.

His clients have included companies in the following sectors: Financial Services, Family Offices, Technology and software engineering, Healthcare, Pharmaceuticals, Manufacturing, Construction, Consumer Electronics, Packaging, Retail, Industrial equipment, Product Design, and Education.

Richard has been a member of Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Venture Mentoring Service, the Family Firm Institute, and the American Psychological Association.
